About me:
Before ORama VR, since 2021, I had been a 3D artist at Diadrasis IT, an Athens-based company specializing in educational AR heritage applications. I was tasked with creating historically accurate characters to populate our 3D environments, which also required research into archaeological dig catalogues, and museum artifacts. I also learned how to set up rigs and animations for the Unity 3D engine, and also how to optimize my work for portable devices.
Since 2022, I have been working as a 3D artist for the medical XR application company, ORama VR. Our 3D simulations train doctors and surgeons. Thus, my responsibility is to create accurate 3D visualizations of the human body, animated representations of surgical procedures, medical tools and hospital environments. This is achieved through continuous research and coordination with medical professionals. I also have to balance scientific accuracy with visual fidelity and optimization for VR devices, while also maintaining a signature ORama VR style.
Due to my initiative to create the company’s Prop Library, a digital catalogue containing all of our 3D assets, standardized for easy use by any developer who might need them, in 2024, I was promoted to Lead Designer.
